QF>Hi All,
QF>I have WinNT on c: drive and I want to place Win95 on my e: drive. How
QF>do I partition e: drive for Win95? The only thing I know how do is,
QF>install System Commander(It load up NT on the menu screen).
Win95 will need its startup files (IO.SYS and MSDOS.SYS) on the C:\
partition... the actual \WINDOWS folder can be on any drive you want.
Prior to installing Win95, run the NT Emergency Repair disk program
(Start/Run/RDISK.EXE) to create up-to-date emergency repair disk... use
these after installing W95 to update your system.
Afterwards, you may want to edit the hidden C:\BOOT.INI file, to make sure
that WIN95 is listed as a boot option... here's how mine reads:
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=C:\
[Operating Systems]
C:\="Windows 95"
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Windows NT Workstation Version
4.00"
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Windows NT Workstation Version
4.00 [VGA mode]" /basevideo /sos
If these don't work, you may need to reinstall NT to enable multiboot.
