Actually, I did suppose that you don't, and I shouldn't have supposed
that.  I applaud your generosity.

If the Scouts are booting out athiests for being athiests or for
refusing to act religiously, they're obviously wrong for doing so.  In
their defense, I'll say that not all scout troops are the same.  I'd
take a bet that most troops wouldn't care if Johnny was an athiest, but
there are always the few who make the papers.  Just as most American
catholics don't heed the Vatican's admonition against birth control, I
don't think most Scout troops obey headquarter's decision to expel
athiests.

I also think it's unfair to compare them to the Klan, the Freemen,
neo-Nazis, or other such violent groups.  The Scouts just tell people
to go away.  So if they want to use a public facility, and no one else
is using it, where's the harm?

They're an organization that does a lot of good at little or no cost to
us, and they also help to keep boys off the street.  I suggest we let
them continue.
