Is breathing pure oxygen fatal?

I do know having a pure oxygen in the pressurized cabin contributed to the
deaths of the Apollo 1 astronauts, but this was due to a fire in the
capsule.
A Cosmonaut going through training died the same way, when an alcohol swab
touched a hot plate in a pure oxygen test chamber.

And I've been given pure oxygen in the hospital.

And when it comes to global climate change, Faux and the radio blatherers
push "the other side," which is comprised of kooks, bought politicians and
luddites.
