| subject: | Is this possible under Linux? |
Hey Robert! Sep 26 19:46 05, Robert Couture wrote to Maurice Kinal: RC> The way RC> the conversation was going, I had thought you were refering to the RC> running of DOS doors. That subject was brought up but not by me. My stance on that particular subject was there are better games that could be networked using linux although they aren't traditional doorgames in the DOS BBS sense of the word. I am not a gamer so the whole subject is sort of lost on me. However, if it were important, I'd honestly prefer native linux bbs doorgames and in that regard they'd at least have to be multiuser in real time but could be played by a single user. Speaking as a sysop, I'd appreciate bbs apps that took into account that we're playing on linux now. Not many, if indeed ANY, true DOS users around anymore in these parts. Also, considering the higher number of Windows users I find myself surrounded by, these same games should be able to be rendered to IE to take into account the fact that Windows is a highly crippled OS when it comes to readily available terminal apps for that particular platform. I think there would be a demand for that. However, the lack of suitable user terminal apps in Windows is a bigger problem for BBSing no matter what the host OS is, up to and including Linux.
