I'm running 2.95.4 for gcc under debian (3.0r1) GNU/Linux.

If SqaFix is what is giving you problems compiling Max, you can move
everything out of the maximus/sqafix subdirectory into a temporary holding
place, and I think that should solve the make issue.  If that doesn't, then
roll maximus/Makefile back to the version befor I made my check-in of that
file that added the sqafix targets.  This is a quick and dirty fix till we
can debug what you are hanging on when compiling the sqafix code.
