subject: Anyone out there?

Hello,

I could use one of those. Even a simple 2m omnidirectional base antenna
would help, but installing one at my current location is beyond my
confidence level and and besides, we may move house before very long.

That rings a bell. I remember trying some VoIP software that was linked to
repeaters, but I forget the title (it has been a while). I seem to
remember reading that some systems only allowed access via a repeater, to
reduce the risk of non-hams getting on the air.
