Good on you.
I bought a external USB enclosure on that day.
It works as proof of concept but I should have applied the funds
to a quality unit.
Plugs and connectors inferior quality so  power plug falls 
out if looked at.

You generally get what you pay for.

My experience with _deals_ matches your own.
