You may use a usual "print" to STDOUT or to STDERR.

It is a digit or a letter from LogLevels token description (see
/hpt/doc/hpt.html). The character will be printed as the first character in the
log file line like this:

E 00:20:32  echo area ROO.ROBOTS.LOC - 1 msgs
^ the first character is the loglevel.
