subject: Is v1.4.0 a stable version yet?

Hello Jame,

Sunday June 17 2007, Jame Clay wrote to Benny Pedersen:

A husky version is called stable if there is no development for it, just bug
fixing. When they fix bugs in the version 1.4.0-sta the version number is not
changed, just a build date. So they do nothing new for husky 1.4.0-sta but that
does not mean that it has no bugs. When husky maintainer considers that he is
tired fixing bugs in the stable version he will call it a release version and
from that moment on it will be not called stable, it will be called a release.
But that again will not decrease the number of bugs. :)

A release candidate RC# is just a name for some build date and bug fixing is
not stopped. Therefore there are versions newer than 1.4.0-sta RC5.

Hopefully we'll see a new release version this millenium. :)

Michael
