I used to have that problem with Mandrake. I fixed it by changing the
default font to default8x16?? or something there about. It works OK
with debian, except for the odd character is messed up.
I have noticed though at times I'll read a message with MBSE or
Synchronet and it changes my character set or something. I don't
really know what to call it but everthing seems to be greek or
something, really strange. I can read the message with golded and
everything is fine. Once I run out of english consoles I have to
reboot!
