  The best deal I got on a gambling riverboat was when I took Southwest
Airlines from Little Rock to Saint Louis for a weekend (I had some
flight credits that were about to expire). So, it was a 1 hour flight
(same from Little Rock to Dallas (Love Field)), and once I got there, I
got on Metrolink, their light rail system. After crossing the
Mississippi River into East Saint Louis, Illinois...I got off the light
rail, and walked about 1/4 mile to the Delta Queen Riverboat. I spent $1
in the casino on Keno...then "hit the jackpot" on an "All You Can Eat
Breakfast Buffet" for $4!! :)

  The Duke City Hamfest in Albuquerque, New Mexico (where you have to be
sure to make a left turn there ), is in the Isleta Hotel and Casino.
I definitely will be taking advantage of the buffets, if I can make the
trip. But, finances have to work out before I can even consider such.

  My former PCP is also a ham...he's retired now (in his 70's), but he
would ride his motorcycle to/from work every weekday. During the winter,
he'd go down to south Florida, and work CW on the HF bands, telling the
folks in Canada "how balmy the weather was"!! You could hear them seethe
"I wish you'd shut up!!" .
