| subject: | Is this possible under Linux? |
Hello Maurice. 26 Sep 05 20:08, you wrote to me: RC>> My point was that I am not suffering performance under emulation RC>> that I suffered under DV. For me, that works. For others, like RC>> yourself, it doesn't. To each their own I suppose. MK|> Yes but how does that compare to running simular apps that don't MK|> require emulation? Other then to run native DOS apps, why use MK|> emulation at all? Is there an advantage I am not seeing here? Ah, I see what you are saying. In that case I totally agree. A native app will always run better than one under emulation. The way the conversation was going, I had thought you were refering to the running of DOS doors. My thoughts were that a BBS without doors is rather boring. As such (with the most popular doors still being DOS,) I run them without qualms. Mind you, they are the only thing running under DOSEMU on that system. And of course if there is a Linux port of a door, that gets used.
