Mike, You've got it backwards. A 14 triple modified motor has
THREE strands of wire wrapped around the arm FOURTEEN times. Hence
the FOURTEEN TURN name.
The lower the number of turns a motor has, the higher the number of RPM's
it is capable of turning. ex: a 12 turn will spin faster than a 14 turn.
A lower wind will also draw higher current and shorten run time.
The single, double, triple, etc... stuff has more to do with the power
band of the motor, rather than the pure rpm peak. A triple or quad
will usually be smoother to drive than a single or double, while the
single will usually show rpm peaks in it's power curve.
Happy racing.
