| subject: | Re: ATM testing aluminized flats |
From: "Bob May" To: "atmlist" Reply-To: "Bob May" I've been able to get seeable fringes from an aluminized flat with a clear uncoated flat on top of it with just ordinary cool white flourscents. In an enclosure with a green light, the fringes appear without any problems. They are dimmer than glass/glass fringes but are quite visible nevertheless. One thing to note is that the glass and aluminum does need to be clean and DRY. If you wash the surfaces, leave them ot dry for a good 5 minutes or the outgassing of the water will keep the fringes from forming as there will be too much of a gap for best results. In addition, any dust wll keep the fringes from forming as well.
