 Mayby there is some (hardware-)cache on youre HD-controller ?
 When the PCU has nothing to do, then the cache is flushed...
 I have a VLB- cache controller with 2Mb on.... and it's all the time
 that suddenly the HD-light is on because something is written to the HD
 (I use WIN3.11, not WIN95..)
