The early 800's (with the over/under input jacks and non-channel
switching) were the same heads as the earlier mid-to-late 70's JMP
series. I bought one of those new in '76 and it's been all over hell
and back and still works great. You could also look for one of those.
If you find one and play it, lemme know what you think of it. A lot of
the JMP's had 6550's. I like them, but a lot of people don't. It's a
real easy changeover to EL34's, so don't let the 6550's stop you if you
find a nice one.
