DH> Yep! Absolutely right! Just keep straight and steady, boys
DH> and girls, and you'll be as safe as possible!
DT>I'd amend all this somewhat. In my mind, the number one key to bicycle
DT>safety is a rear view mirror and an appropriate amount of aggressiveness.
DT>If a car passes you, and you didn't see it coming, you're not checking the
DT>mirror often enough.
DT>you're aware of him. This routine seems to work quite well for me. I
DT>rarely have a car go by me at a high rate of speed two feet off my handle
DT>bars. That's what used to spook me the most when I first started riding.
All I ask is 6 inchs clearance & I could care less about thier speed. about
two
hours ago a van turned right from the highway onto a gravel road about 30
eet
in front of me while I was speeding down hill with tailwind (30 mph my
uess).
I locked up the rear not sure about the front because about 300 nanosecs
ater
I bounces off the turning vans quarterpanal. I'm sudenly a big helment fan,
split my giros but I got away with only scratchs and a blow rear tire from
he
panic stop. Helments are more comfortable than wheelchairs.
