Certainly a sense of place, and a feeling of understanding
of the life around us. So many plants, just outside one's
front door, have tremendous calming or healing powers when
used properly. Now only ornamentals or strictly flavour
edibles are raised. Dandelions are mown down; cinquefoil
is classified as a noxious weed, and many, many others
uprooted for the mandatory azalea bush or rose.

Well, the Dark ages began when the combined wisdom of thousands
of years was wiped clean by fanatic religious zeal. It hasn't
gotten a whole lot better in terms of the people's general
knowledge. At least our hospitals are once again compiling
their knowledge and data, and sharing it.
