Had it been me, I would have immediately done an Alt-D to drop to Dos,
and then an "undel" and looked for a file that looked like a rep packet
to accept for undeletion.  If you wait until you've closed up the
message packet, you will probably end up overwriting the rep packet when
the closed message packet with updated pointers gets written to the disk.

Still not guaranteed to work, but the best chance you have to recover
things...  :)
