i see them as above... moving through the gaps in this editor seems to depict
them as spaces... but here's an experiment...

there is one tab between each of the numbers... looks like this editor has
fixed tab offsets in place... i don't know if i can change them or not... i may
already have because i use two spaces in my coding steps and these tab stops
seem to be two spaces, too...
