FM> As you will appreciate, there was a pretty big packet waiting for me
FM> when I got home - 648k compressed, 1.7Meg raw. So it should have taken
FM> quite a while for PKT2QWK to do its stuff, but not 57 bloody minutes!
FM> Round about the 400+ message mark, it started to take several seconds
FM> per message - anything from 1.5 to 5+ - as indicated by the output as it
FM> does each one. Then, it decided to write a zero-byte CONTROL.DAT! So the
FM> only thing readable was the personal messages. This was easily fixed by
FM> grabbing a CONTROL.DAT out of another packet.
FM> The old problem also occurred, with spurious stuff being generated into
FM> the .NDXs. This was also easily fixed, by deleting all the .NDXs. AAMOI,
FM> there were 1523 messages according to the indexes but only 1395 real
FM> ones.
FM> This time, I hope I've captured all the input so I can recreate and
FM> possibly track down these problems. I notice you've sent me a new
FM> PQWK222.ZIP. What does it fix?
PQWK222 fixes the problem with people leaving "To:" out of their
netmail, so please switch to it. And if you can reproduce the
problem with PQWK222, especially the problem with CONTROL.DAT
being zero-length, I'll take a look at it. Please include an
archive containing the PKT files, and a batch file that calls
PKT2QWK with whatever parameters you normally use. BFN. Paul.
