When I began my road-service job in 2007, I was supplied with a 2 ton
floor jack. Had it been a bottle jack, changing a tire on some of the
larger SUVs would have been a PIA. Having to use the manufacturer's jack
was an even bigger PIA. I also used a 12vdc impact wrench, which I swore
by every time I had to change a tire. When my employer 'outlawed' their
use, I never let him know that I even carried one, but used it on every
tire change I did. I still have three of those and pack one when we go on
a long trip, just in case I have to change a tire myself.
Wal-Mart used to sell those impact wrenches for less than $30, and I know
that I wore out two of those. WM was nice enough to exchange the worn out
impact for a new one. 8^)
