Further to that, on some bbs's, while it goes by the numbers, the
echotags are also alphabetic, as that is how the sysop set them up in
the first place when he/she was setting up the bbs in the first place...
at least for the ones that existed at the beginning...  when they
maintain the alpha with added echoes, the numeric shifts, and one has to
make sure that any replies are numbered correctly so it goes into the
right echo...  :)
