DS> I hadn't connected with my main FIDONet hub (Janis Kracht) in several

 DS> tonight. :P

Yeah my problem hasn't been getting the messages; it's been getting the time
in this particular terminal to respond to them. I know that there were quite a
few going back and forth with Nancy and I for awhile. Always glad to get some
extra input. :)

DS> It was a good thing I had bought a used Windows Vista Home Basic

Ack. Yeah I just try to stay away from Microsoft in general. The amount of
resources that are used there, and the product that's being paid for... Well,
I don't mind other people doing it, but it's not my choice. ;)
I have looked a little longingly at Synchronet's 'doze GUI, though, for
awhile. At some point I may end up trying to set up Synchronet on Windows in a
VM just for the heck of it. I basically only operate Windows if I'm using
Virtual Studio, though.

DS> We got 1 to 2 inches of much needed rain here today from storms, but
DS> we still have storms in the forecast into Monday. Fire danger has been
DS> high, with burn bans all over the place. But, the storms mean little or
DS> no computer or BBS work.

Smoke here from wildfires today. Visibility at the airport was said to be 2
statute miles. I'm guessing that hasn't been updated for awhile, I'd be
surprised if that'd hold to a test right now. It's hazy and yellow out and
smells pretty thick of wildfire.
Rain would be a good thing. :)
Do storms knock out your power pretty regularly there?
