On 04-06-09, JOHNJWILSON said to JEFF SNYDER: -> Clearly, there is something wrong with our society... -> so many...adopt such indifference when it -> comes to the ugly issue of abortion, and the pre-meditated, -> cold-blooded slaughter of over 1.37 million unborn, innocent -> children annually in the United States of America alone. JJ>Although I don't _completely_ think that parents should be allowed to JJ>dispense with their children (up to the age of two)I do believe that every JJ>birth should be for a wanted child. And the decision should be made by th JJ>mother...and we should rid ourselves of thinking that a Catholic dogma JJ>should rule and be considered a 'fact'. When a natural abortion occurs do JJ>you think that God is killing an innocent child? You seem to be going down the wrong track, here. Everybody gets all demanding -we-do-something about underage drinking when the death statistics for auto accidents come out involving underage drinkig and driving. Not a year goes by in this county that doesn't have its multiple-death accident involving just-graduated high school kids, and alchohol. Typically, the teenage driver responsible for the accident was drunk from celebrating either graduation, or the pre-graduation spring break. And... almost every time, they take out one or more innocent other teens who had their whole life ahead of them, their parents had saved for their college education, and had high hopes for their child's future. But.........mention the deaths resulting from abortion each year,,,,and suddenly its `well,,,,the decision should be made by the mother'! A lot of abortion could be prevented by responsible birth-preventive practices, just as many traffic deaths of young people can be prevented by responsible enforcement of under-aged drinking laws. How can anyone possibly rage about `there ought to be tough, strict laws' to prevent people too young to purchase and consume alchoholic beverages; the assumption being that people under a certain age are unable to drink and do so responsibly; yet....that same underage person is responsible enough to engage in sexual activity? Not only that......that same person who is deemed `irresponsible' is suddenly qualified to decide the life or death of a human fetus? I get so mad over this issue it isn't even funny! They make so many kinds of birth-preventive devices, and have so many types of birth control pills on the market, there is no excuse whatever for the number of fetuses aborted in this country. If some couples can't even engage in sexual activity responsibly by using a birth control method, that are readily available over the counter to anyone at almost any age.....what makes you or anyone else think those same irresponsible individuals are responsible enough to make a decision like whether or not to have an abortion? Thats just sick! --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
