BA> TW> In my 20 years in the Engineering Department vof the local VA Medical BA> TW> Center I got to observe three of thosew Trades. I saddly found far BA> TW> too many Tradesman that had ZERO Pride in their Work. AND this was in BA> TW> a Hospital where the poor patitets, Veterans in this ase, where a BA> TW> price is paid for the Inconvience of Sloppy Workmanship. BA>Do you remember if they were members of the craft unions or if they were BA>just members of the government employees' union? If the former I'm surprise BA>if the latter I'm not. I have a fairly low opinion of most government BA>employees BA>and bureaucrooks in general, based on 40+ years of dealing with them. They were Craft Union Contractor employees. I am well aware of the situation with the goverment employees. Although in all Fairness there are many Good Honest Wroking ones out there but the Far to large goldbricks and out and out Incompetant set the tone. I was Lucks as my kno was taking care of the Critical Care equipment in the intensive care units and the Surgical Area. I mostly interfaced with ther Nursing staff and had little dealings with the "Workers" in the "Basement". I did alright ignoring the reality of those I had low opinions of but the Last Two years was really tough. I came home so bent out of shape that the wife was afraid I would not make it to me retirement date. But on my Last day I got the Ultimate Honor. The Chief of Nursing got word of my leaving and instead of calling me down to Her Office she called me and asked "Where Are you Tom". I told her and in a short while she came up with several nurses from the ICU's and Surgery to Personaly thank me for my dedicated services on their behalf and to say that I* would be missed. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom strikes agaoin* Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
