I always thought of retirement as having No Weekends.

Kroger having Senior Day on Thursday, and Jay-C's Senior Day on Tuesday,
thaat is IF the Senior Person went to the Customer Service Desk to show
their PLUS Card to Join their Senior Club(s),  (BTW Jay-C is owned by Kroger),
and both giving 5% off the tab on those days around here.
Huntington Krogers have their Senior Day on a different day of the week iirc.

Plus Bible Study, Prayer Meeting on Wednesday and Church on Sunday,
all the days would just run together and I'd have no idea when the Regular
Peoples Weekend was without my remembering those Four days of the week.

On Fridays when I'm shopping and a store employee says to me,
"Have a nice weekend.",
I tell them I carry it on top of my shoulders all the time,
and point at My Head.
