I am attempting to make what is essentially the 10" f/6 telescope
featured in Berry's book. My question is-- should I use a chemical
stripper to remove the wax coating from the inside of the tube or should I
simply peel it off (which will remove the innermost layer of paper, thus
making the tube thinner). The mirror that I will be using is a full
thickness one in its original metal mirror cell from the late 70's. Will
the tube still be strong enough if I remove the innermost layer of the
paper laminate?
Thanks.
