| subject: | Re: Obama`s Report Card |
On 03/26/09, Jeff Snyder quoted TOM WALKER: Obama's Report Card. TW> He is the WORST Disaster this Country has Ever Faced. And WILL go down in TW> History as Destroying the Country we loved so dearly. TW> His latest trick is to get Congress to give the Goverment the ability to TW> Take over, Nationalize, a Private Business. Where do you think that will TW> lead to. The Socialist Republic of the United States?? Hello again Tom. As I pointed out to you in the controversial topics echo, I am by no means an Obama fan; however, at the same time, I must express some amazement at the tone of your above response, particularly in light of the previous eight years. If Obama "is the WORST Disaster this Country has Ever Faced", then what was George W. Bush, pray tell? While I agreed with some of Bush's viewpoints, (specifically regarding abortion, embryonic stem cell research and the gay and lesbian agenda), at the same time, I think that Bush was a terrible president, and he was very bad for the USA. For the record, Bush trampled upon the rights of American citizens left and right. Can anyone forget Carnivore, illegal wire taps, etc.? This guy thought that he was immune to the law. Bush engaged America in two simultaneous wars, (at least one of which was downright illegal, unjustified and based upon lies and deception -- WMD anyone?), which taxed the American economy...and he would have gone after Iran if he still had time and the resources. He was a war-monger and not a true Christian peacemaker. His outward appearance of faith was only a facade to lull gullible Christian voters to sleep. While Bush emphasized the "rule of law", in a hypocritical fashion, he promoted the doctrines and practices of "extraordinary rendition", (a.k.a. torture), and "regime change", (illegally attacking a sovereign nation because you don't like its leader), which are frowned upon by the rest of the civilized world. Sadly, the UN is a weak, gutless, divided body with no real backbone to stand up to people like Bush; thus, Bush got his way as the UN turned a blind eye to his deeds. Furthermore, Bush initially scoffed at Global Warming, and he was basically environmentally unfriendly. With his snobbish, overbearing, belligerent, unilateralist attitude, he made America one of the most hated nations in the world. He was the worst American PR man there could ever be. In addition to the above, Bush was a friend of the rich and the elite. He constantly did favors for them, (such as huge tax breaks), while he basically ignored the plight of the poor, the sick, the elderly and the disadvantaged. In short, Bush's "compassionate conservatism" was not very compassionate in my view. You say that Obama will destroy the USA? Well, I think we all need to keep things in proper perspective. Obama inherited a load of crap from the previous administrations; I would dare say more than any president before him. While the destruction of America as we know it may possibly end with Obama, it most certainly did not begin with him. We can thank Bush, Clinton and previous presidents and Congresses for that. These problems, particularly the financial crisis, have been years in the making. Sadly, Obama may be like the black servant who has been given the odious job of cleaning up the rich, white man's mess. And no, I am not African-American. I am as white as they come. I just think that is how some of rich, white, elite America may now be viewing Obama. They may be laughing behind his back as he scrambles to clean up their mess. Again, I am very concerned about Obama. I cannot stomach some of his liberal views, (which he is now beginning to implement); yet at the same time, I am fair enough to realize that he didn't create the problems; he has just been assigned to trying to fix them...and it will be totally impossible to do so in a brief four years. He may indeed fail, but it won't entirely be his fault. You can't plug a leaking dam with a band-aid. Personally, I am neither Republican, Democrat or Independent. I think American politics is all a load of crap. It's like asking a person which brand of bar soap they use, or which brand of toothpaste they use. It doesn't matter who gets in power, or what party holds the power; nothing ever really changes for the man at the bottom. The faces may change, but the situation remains basically the same. For all I know, Obama is a Republican in disguise. :) Those are the facts as I currently see them. You may not agree, but that is your right, of course.
