Paraphrasing the manual:
"There is no limit to the value for NUMERIC DIGITS (except the amount
of memory available), but note that high precisions are likely to require a
good deal of processing time."

REXX does arithmetic the same way as you would do it with pencil and paper,
so there are no problems with floating point precision. Setting a
sufficiently high NUMERIC DIGITS value will also prevent rounding errors.

There is also a NUMERIC FUZZ value, to allow setting up "fuzzy
logic" algorithms.
