in that case, yes, that's the (supposedly) "non-existant" MS-DOS 7 ;)

i didn't understand that you were running BW while booted from an ERD... if
you were, then you should have been able to locate the file that got
deleted... if, however, you rebooted from a normal boot, then it is very
possible that windows normal shutdown routines did overwrite the file in
question... there are numerous system files that windows flushes and
rewrites to disk when it shuts down... the main ones being the registry
files...
