In DOS just dir/s \ > files.bbs.
I'm certain Linux has a similar command.
Perhaps ls -aRl (source) > files.bbs?

Or are you simultaniously trying to extract the file_id description?
I know Knoppix Linux has PKZIP compatable zip and unzip functions
and you can specify the files you want to extract from an large archive.
