Bob, one of the common complaints here, which has thrived for many years, is
the fact that even though Guamanians are for the post part extremely loyal to
the US Government, and have watched as their sons have died in America's wars,
including in Iraq and Afghanistan, to this day, we on Guam do not possess the
right to vote for president and vice president. Neither do we have senators in
the US Senate. All we have is a non-voting Congressional Delegate, who is
current Madeleine Z. Bordallo, the wife of a former Guam governor who
committed suicide several decades ago, shortly after I arrived here. We on
Guam are the vestiges of American colonialism and imperialism. We were
liberated from the Japanese by the USA, but never truly liberated. The
military controls the best third of the island. We are second class citizens
with limited rights.

You are right. As I have mentioned before, I am not from Guam, but I have
lived here for 23 years. I am not in, and have never been in, the US military.
As a peace-loving Christian, I don't accept the flimsy excuses for America's
wars; and for the very same reason, I was a conscientious objector to the Viet
Nam War, and did not serve there, and have absolutely no regrets, or shame,
about it.
