Don,
  With the passband tuning knob at 12:00 the BFO will read 50 khz. This is
adjusted with T-11. Placing a frequency counter probe near T-11 under the
chassis will usually pick up the BFO rf without a direct connection. The
range of the Passband Tuning is aproximately 47 to 53 Khz.
