On the box that worldly communicates there aren't the proper dependencies
for mbse, nevermind gcc.  I keep everything to a minimum there.  So far it
still has room from growth in a 8M ramdisk.  Also for programs like binkd
which don't require any extra dependencies beyond the basics (glibc in this
case) then I can get away without installing them as part of the system but
instead as an extra off a secondary mount.  Presently that is on a usb
flash disk mounted on /home/fido.  If msged was like that and didn't
require nonsystem dependencies then it would fit well into the scheme. 
Same with hpt.  Unfortunetly someone along the line decided those did
(libsmapi and libfidoconfig) and that is where they deviated making it
difficult.
