subject: self dissolving files

I had been reading some docs in the High Voltage SID collection (Craig
Chamberlain ones) that mentions the self dissolving files,
one comes to mind: .SDA but I just dont remember the other extension?

Were these actually Library files or different?

Self dissolving archives were used with packing a small amount of SID files, I
assume other files can be packed, but what are tye limitations?

I assume the .SDA can be created right on a C64/C128, the way Craig Chamberlain
talked was there a program in any of the utilities
in the Enhanced SID collection? If so what program.

I assume not very many files could be archived in SDA. (Im not referring to
unpacking thats easy, creating the .SDA).

These you run as a .prg then use a blank disk to dissolve the files onto.

Was curious about these was wondering if any older Enthusiasts know about this
process?

Thanks,

traymond
