Where did you linux specific fido software?  I have yet to encounter
anything like that.  Have found a few DOS ports but they tend to be flakey
on linux, if they even compile at all.

hpt requires a DOS ported library.  Not surprising it will crash ... is it?
 I've been using it on this point but would never rely on it to run a busy
node, nevermind hub.  I could say the same about all the ported fido
software.  Linux requires something far more unixie.  No?
