Yes, most of the files that I made myself are straight ascii files with pipe
codes to adjust the colour (or some mci codes) when needed. Those files seem
to display fine in all cases. Some of those files conatain high ascii and
those are the ones that don't always look as expected, so if I could I'd like
to make those files utf-8 compatible.

As an example, when utf-8 was first getting underway my mp3 player
(mp3blaster) didn't look right when I was using utf-8. Some of the lines
around the outside showed up as question marks or some other replacement
character. After that I stayed away from utf-8. But nowadays mp3blaster looks
as expected whether I use utf-8 or not. So I'm hoping I can also do that with
those BBS files so they look as expected utf-8 or not.
