I have a new supraexpress 288 pnp modem running on a 386DX33, Telix in
Dos and Netscape with Internet. I like it so far and have been getting
good connects with Telix. I got a external because I'm used to actually
using the lights with my old PP 9600SA. I have to say that although the
modem is functioning fine, the lights are a joke. the SD and RD lights
and nearly impossible to see unless the room is pitch black. Howevr,
the price was right. Does anyone have a good init string for Telix that
might tweak up the speed of z-modem transfers? I'm getting about 2800
cps or so..is that tops? And does anyone know if there is a way to
manually put in an init string in Netscape and if so, a good setup for
this modem? It isn't listed in my list of modems to default to. The
list of defauts that apply to me would be the supra 288 faxmodem, a
"default modem" setting and a default ATZ and a default AT&F1. Any help
would be appreicated. And I know this is a stupid request, but any way
to soup up the intensity of the lights on the front? Thanks agin.
Ron
