Arch has the latest and greatest everything very soon after it's released.
The kernel here is 3.19.2, haven't looked at kernel.org but I'm sure it is
recent. Might work with your hardware.

Yeah, I have been wondering if I can convert my bbs files to utf-8 without
loosing the look of things.

Arch doesn't have a default for UTF-8 or not. You setup your /etc/locale.conf
yourself during setup. I'm not sure what you would end up with if you left it
blank.

Arch has no /bin /sbin or /usr/sbin, they are symlinks to /usr/bin. Don't
really know what to make of that.
