No, I don't see how it could. Just to make sure we are on the same
page, my thinking was more along, "Signature file: C:\BW\SIG.BAT"

The batch file opens by asking you for your "Choice". Then, it
passes your selection to errorlevel processing, where "if" it
does equal a certain value, you "goto" that branch, and
"echo" your
text. Then, you simply "goto" :end the process.

Macros, means you'd have to *hold* down a key, *and* press
another. Heck... You may have to hold down *two* 'meta-keys' and press
a third. I was looking for some automaton, and just one key-press. You
know... Economy. <-:

Whether BW would use it, is a little out of my physical reach right
now, (Again, health issues.) but it should be workable even if you
have to run COMMAND.COM as a child process. [See below]

[BELOW :-]
"C:\Should_REALLY_be_other_than_root\COMMAND.COM /c C:\BW\SIG.BAT"

But please check your docs, or at least get confirmation if you, or
anyone else try these. It's been *many* years since I last used the
info, and with XP, I don't even know if the same conventions are
used. At least, you gave me some exercise trying to remember that
stuff.

It does seems workable, even if by a macro run by your editor. But,
that would be too easy.

... So easy, a child could do it. Child sold separately.
