Can you still receive the call then?....  I don't think you can... can u?.. 
if not, leaving it off defeats the purpose.  You can AVOID being charged if 
you ESN were snarfed, by keeping your calling patterns the same.  For 
example, going from 1 - 5 calls a day, to 20 - 30 calls a day, would set off 
an alarm at a SMART Cell Dealer.
