| subject: | UPS:PCI `Boot` prompt |
On or about: 07-28-06 00:38, Russell Tiedt did engage James Bradley regarding, but not limited to: UPS:PCI "Boot>" prompt JB> This time, it worked the *right* way around. RT> Yipheee ... I'm hoping that Murphy doesn't hear me. JB> communicate to Linux's USB "nuts" interface, but was never able to JB> coheres any functionality into it. RT> Ah ... :-( Win some, and use immature, experimental modules for the rest. JB> We takes what we can get. Glad to hear the health is better! RT> Thanks ... :-) Cheers! JB> If only it would help... I see UPSes sell for ten bucks for 1400VA JB> units. The batteries are usually ka-put on them, but a forty bucks - JB> or so - worth of battery usually brings them back to life. RT> Not bad, coul d use one of them ... I think I've seen two or three Triplites in all my time attending the government auction, but the rest are APCs. It's odd, but I'm sure most of those are not troubleshoot once a battery doesn't bring them back to life. Mind you, the parts that protect the fuse are likely too costly to replace. JB> ships them over seas. RT> Yeah, just that the Congo 15000 + km's north north west of here ... Like my offer earlier, stuff would likely go missing before it made half the trip overland. Imagine, a thief twice as stupid as the government that spec'ed Compaq, IBM, and APC? Maybe I live in a glass house here, but I've had a Compaq sitting on my front stoop for most of the summer, and SMP servers - since I bought them - sitting under my balcony. ...
