RdL> What do you guys think? MK> Might be possible. I suppose it depends on the user's MK> terminal. I know that ncurses can be coded to detect MK> terminal capabilities. It works on the linux term. How do most of the other BBS's do it? I remember even Renegade would somehow detect ANSI. Even if you just prompted "Does your terminal support ANSI? [Y,n]" immediately when people connect before logo.bbs is displayed, that would be nice. I really love Maximus! I just needed to get that out of me hehe... I've been using it since around 1993. At one point I wrote something called ASUM : Automated Setup Utility for Maximus. It was an RA style menu configuration program for Max and had handy utils to import/export various files like AREAS.BBS, BACKBONE.NA, and a few others. It worked great but I lost half the source code over the years (don't ask how I lost HALF haha) I'm a bit tempted to re-write it but this time using a door library so that it can be used remotely too. I've tried to get several people to use Max over the years and they abandoned it for other BBS's like Illusion :( They didn't like the CTL files and compiling ANSI's to MECCA :/ ttyl Ryan --- Maximus 3.01* Origin: The Dog House * Orillia ON Canada * bbs.doghousebbs.com (1:229/1394) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 229/1394 2000 1000 106/1 2000 633/267 |
