Guide-Dogs now has a training center in Boring Oregon. Yes that's right,
Boring Oregon. That isn't nearly as far as San Fafael California, so I
think they are starting to think about more schools closer to people's
home areas. 
I know someone who got a dog from Seeing Eye, and this person says that he
has worked his dog with both the right hand and left hand. I don't know if
the school itself taught him this or whether he thought of doing that
himself. At any rate, I work with the cane with both hands sometimes, just
in case something were to happen to my right hand. It feels rather awkward
to work that way, but it does work adequately when needed.
