subject: Black Box to Cops?

His all...
Just browsing here, theres obviously quite a bit of experience in the
echo when it comes to flying....
Recently a court in New Zealand decreed that the Black Box Recording of
a domestic crash a couple of years ago be given over to the police for
the purpose of investigating possible criminal charges against the
aircrew for negligence or somethingorother... there was a hellova lot of
question about whether the aircrew were a little .. whats the word..
damn its slipped... 'slack' about their conduct on the flight.
This decision has made pilots all over start questioning the validity of
the IVR as they believed only air accident investigators would ever hear
them...
Some domestic pilots in NZ have elected to disable them during flight as
its not actually compulsary for domestic flights...
What are the opinions of the readers?
