DB> Okay, so here we have a claim from you. Where is this information
DB> from? So far, I see a claim by Klass (backed up by demonstrations
DB> in one of his books or articles) and a claim by George backed up
DB> by...nothing.
DB> GJO> The letterheard is also unchanged in all documents. Thus the claim
DB> of
DB> GJO> photocoping is void.
DB> The claim is void because George SAYS it's void? Wow. I wish I had
DB> that kind of power. "Your claim is void. I have spoken."
DB> GJO> 2) The claim the Cutler could not have written the
DB> Cutler-Twining
DB> GJO> memo since he was in Europe is also a extremely bad arguement.
DB> GJO> The actually document has no signature on it from Cutler or
DB> the
DB> GJO> /s? symbol.
DB> Again, we have only your word for these things.
DB> GJO> 3) The waterpaper is wrong on the Cutler-Twining memo
DB> document.
DB> GJO> Wrong...the paper used was Fox paper as denoted on the document.
DB> GJO> Fox paper was contacted and it stated that it made this paper
DB> GJO> between 1953 and early 1970's. The document was dated 1954.
DB> GJO> The were other claims of false classification and marks, and other
DB> GJO> number issue, which however provided little serious evidence
DB> to
DB> GJO> class the documents a hoax (not including the later supposed
DB> GJO> Majestic-12 recovery manual).
DB> Read: Anything you don't want to talk about is "little serious
DB> evidence."
DB> GJO> What it does clear show is that skeptics are just as much
DB> GJO> susceptible to excepting lies as are the extreme U.F.O groupies.
DB> So far we have only YOUR word that they are "lies," George.
DB> Meanwhile, most of the rest of the UFOlogical community has long
DB> since properly categorized MJ-12 as a blatant hoax. Actually,
DB> the repeated discussion of such obvious nonsense was one of the
DB> reasons I grew tired of this echo, resigned as Assistant Moderator,
DB> and left a while ago. Frankly, I have even less time to spend on
DB> such things now than I did then, and I've probably spent more time
DB> than MJ-12 is worth already. That said, if you are serious about
DB> discussing this and actually provide evidence to back your claims,
DB> I am quite willing to serve as a go-between with you and Phil Klass.
DB> It may take some time, but I have sent him snail mail before
DB> regarding claims made here (the Friedman bet, for example) and would
DB> be willing to do so again -- as I said, IF you provide some backing
DB> for your claims.
DB> When I was here, it seemed no progress was ever made in UFOlogy.
DB> I was hoping that maybe some things had changed. But in UFOlogy,
DB> it seems that almost never happens. :-( A well-known skeptic
DB> (though I can't recall which one) said it best: For UFOlogy,
DB> it will always be 1947.
I got the above information and the replies to your posts in Skeptics from
Friedman work.....he spent a great deal of time discussing Klass and his
claims about the documents. All I can tell is that the documents have not be
disproven by Klass. Friedman in his majic 12 book addressed all these
problems and I used them in the post to you.
Even if Klass fails to disprove the Majestic-12 documents, i still
have my doubts. My main reason for posting about this topic, is not that it
supports the Extraterrestrial/ufo hypothesis but rather because Skeptics
which have not even looked at these documents and their analysis, believe the
they have been dis . Anyhow, I what to see a government MJ-12 doc first
before I am convinced (meaning some agency admits it theirs).
