Does your at+ms command accept anything higher than 28800?
If not, you have the same problem I have with 2 SupraFAXModem 288i's.
I honestly have come to believe that there are some 288i v.34 flash ROM
capable models that cannot be upgraded to 33.6, and Supra has chosen not to
admit this.
I have emailed Supra three (3) times and not received an answer. My last
email was only 2 days ago, but the first was well over a week ago.
Both of the SupraFAXModem 288i's I flashed to -14, then to -16, then to -17,
took the flash fine according to all outward appearances, and they report the
new versions when the ATI3 command is given.
The new features, though, are NOT reported. The ati command that reports max
rate (not sure which it is at this moment) reports:
28800
OK
and the AT+MS command will accept no baud rate higher than 28800.
There are two systems at least with which we consistently connect 28800, and
the have *never* connected at 31200 or 33600 since the upgrade.
According to Supra, the max baud rate should report 33600, and the AT+MS
command should accept 33600.
Therefore, with no reply from supra with any ideas what causes this, I can
see no other answer than that some Supra modems, even if they *DO* have flash
ROM capability, and even if they *DO* take the flash, just cannot be upgraded
to 33600. I just wish supra would be brave enough to ADMIT that.
