BA> Good luck to you. I have read about it here, but did not connect you
BA> to the "Bill" in the message. In the immortal words of Maxwell Smart,
BA> sorry about that, Chief.
Yes I am the one. That is ok about getting me mixed up as in a
couple of other echos there are so many Bills that I even forget
who I am some of the time.
BA> So they actually transplanted the feet of a bear onto a human? How
BA> come? I would imagine that they are totally different shapes and a
BA> bear's feet would not properly fit in the toe straps. Sure you don't
BA> mean "bare"?
BA>
Yes I did mean bare but there have been some times that the
medications that I am still on I do not see some of my mistakes
like I used to. Actualy this past week I have to increse my pain
medication for one day as the pain in the incesion area was
really bad again. I am still having problems sleeping in anything
but a sitting up or half sitting up position.
Getting back to bike riding:
I nothiced something on my fairly new Univega 21 speed mountain
bike the other day. The largest front chain ring looks like there
are a couple of bent chain lugs (a am not sure the proper names
for them) and a couple of small cracks. I am not sure how I got
these as I am not a very egressive rider and I have been using
the bike mainly on the roadway and some grass areas of the town
parks. Also it is not often that I use this outer chain ring.
Could it be possible that this is a design feature that helps to
move the chain from ring to ring? I do not have that many miles
on the bike so I am wondering if this was like this from the
factory.
The bike is almost 2 years old but I would say has less that a
thousand miles on it.
Should I have the chainring replaced soon or do you think that it
could wait till the end of the summer? That is if I am able to
get back on the bike this year with my health problems. Also I am
wondering what the cost is going to be for replacement as the
town neither owns the bikes we use in the parks nor do they help
in the upkeep of them. Actually the town super is still not in
favor of the bikes as he is a lawyer and he is concerned with the
liability.
