At your suggestion I did subscribe to that bird list too ... but the volume 
of mail I was recieving was too great ... with family plus job 
responsibilites to boot ... I dropped it -- around the time they switched 
servers for their home base. So they are now up to aound 100 messages/ day!

I wasn't surprised.  I think the Doc was overwhelmed in the exam room.  Amy, 
Sue and 2 other kids and me ... all waiting to hear the results of the exam.  
I asked technical questions of him.  He handled it well.  I wouldn't have if 
I were he.
I've found the same idea works when I visit the avian vet.  If I know just 
enough to be dangerous, I can keep the system honest and the vet is not 
afraid of getting technical.  I love to tell Docs, etc that I'm a curious  
engineer and to explain to me what's happening ...
